Ultimate Fudgy Brownies

Mmm, brownies.

I think I have finally found my all-time favorite brownie recipe. They are called the Better Than Boyfriend Brownies, which I think sum them up perfectly.

These are the kind of brownies that you could cook a few minutes less to make them really ooey-gooey or a minute more if you like more of a cooked and fudgy consistency. Either way, you really can’t go wrong with this recipe.

I topped mine with powdered sugar, but you can honestly add whatever you please to make them your own. Caramel, nuts, icing, etc.

How do you guys like your brownies? Let me know below!

2 cups granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 sticks (1 cup) room temperature butter

4 eggs

1 tbsp vanilla extract

1 cup flour

1/2 cup cake flour

1 cup cocoa powder

1/2 tsp kosher salt

1 1/2 cups chocolate chips or chunks (I used a mixture of dark chocolate chunks and semi-sweet chips)

›  Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease or line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper.

› Cream together sugars and butter, for 3-4 minutes until light and fluffy (SUPER important). Add eggs in one at a times until combined. Add in vanilla. Scrape down sides.

› In a small bowl, add together the flour, cake flour, cocoa and salt. Add into mixture in two batches until just combined (Do NOT overmix the flour – will cause more air into the batter).

› Fold in chocolate chips/chunks. Pour into pan and spread evenly.

› Bake for 30-35 minutes. Test with a toothpick to check if they are ready. You do not want the mixture to be a wet mess but not too dry either (You are walking a fine line between ok brownies and gooey fudgy amazing brownies).

› Let brownies cool in pan. Top with whatever you please (powdered sugar, caramel, etc.) and ENJOY!
